CF Application
Celebrating Families, a 16-week program for the whole family, provides a free family style dinner as well as family education sessions in order to create a successful and healthy family environment. Celebrating Families aims to help families impacted by substance abuse and drug dependence by giving families the skills they need to foster a healthy and effective family unit.

ChildSharing offers online co-parenting classes for adults who are raising children between two homes (due to family transitions such as divorce,  separation and remarriage) and who are interested in learning better co-parenting and coping skills. These 4-hour online co-parenting classes meet national standards  for court mandated programs and parents will receive a Certificate of Completion. Please check with your local court to see if the class will be accepted.

Parent Project Jr., Loving Solutions is a 7-week class for parents of strong-willed and impulsive children ages 5 to 10 years. Don’t ignore behaviors that you hope your child will outgrow. Learn concrete strategies to bring rapid positive behavioral change to reduce family conflict, improve the parent-child relationship and improve children’s school performance. Classes provide both emotional and practical support to parents struggling to raise difficult younger children.
Parent Project Sr. is a 10-week class, providing both emotional and practical support for parents struggling to raise adolescents.  The tougher it gets to be a kid, the tougher it gets to be a parent! Concrete answers for your parenting questions. End parent-child arguments forever, improve school attendance and performance, prevent or intervene in alcohol and other drug use, and find resources to help.

This class is a MUST for every kin caregiver! A 21-hour specialized series of classes designed for parents, kinship caregivers, and guardians who are parenting children who have experienced trauma and loss as part of their history. The course provides tools, techniques and information that empowers participants to effectively parent their child.
When: Starting Thursday, February 16th, from 5:30 – 8:30pm (7 consecutive Thursdays)

Playtime Discoveries is a year round program providing Parent-Child Discovery classes that meet the unique needs and interests of toddlers and preschoolers in an age-appropriate setting. Playtime Discoveries believes in a hands-on and learn through play environment where young children can explore in a friendly setting designed especially for small hands and bodies and growing minds. Playtime Discoveries is an inside play environment with explorative play, art, dancing and parent education discussion.

P.O.P.S. groups are led by licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and designed for parents with a child 11 years or younger. Goals include: strengthening family communication, increasing positive father-child involvement, identifying family stressors, and improving the quality of the parents’ relationship (which benefits the child).

Parenting Class Flyer

New parenting class offered by CWS for those who have had CWS involvement. Probation and court-referred parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. The six class series will focus on identifying challenging behaviors in both infants & children and how you can effectively parent children with behavioral issues. Parents may start attending at any point in the 6-session series; attendance does not need to start with Session #1. Classes will focus on: nurturing a strong bond between you & your infant; how to comfort a low-threshold infant; helping your school age child succeed; effective & positive discipline.

The San Luis Obispo classes for SPARK are starting Wednesday, November 2nd from 12noon-2pm, at 11573 Los Osos Valley Rd. Suite B. The classes meet every Wednesday for 6 weeks.

Certificates at the completion of the course.
